Netbook Freezes – Fix it

Many Netbook users are experiencing a problem that their Netbook freezes suddenly while working. It’s really irritating and frustrating when you are doing something important. But don’t worry here are some healthy tips that will allow you to run your Netbook smoothly.

  • Run Disk Defragmentation
  • Clean Junk Files
  • Disable Visual Effects
  • Close Unwanted Services
  • Manage Startup Programs

Run Disk Defragmentation

Fragmentation in operating system occurs due to un-installation or transfer of files. It affects the overall performance of your computer and creates different kind of problems. To fix this problem follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Start
  2. Move to Programs>Accessories>System Tools
  3. Open Disk Defragmenter
  4. Select the drive one by one to defragment
  5. Press the defragment button

Clean Junk Files

Netbook freezes if there are too many junk files in your system. To delete junk files follow the steps stated below:

  1. Click on Start
  2. Go to System Tools and open Disk Cleanup
  3. Select the drive which you wish to scan
  4. Follow the instruction
  5. Clean all the drives one by one
  6. Reboot your PC

Disable Visual Effects

High Visual Effects can also Netbook freezing. Disabling the effects can resolve the problem. Follow the steps below to do so:

  1. Right-click on My Computer and open Properties
  2. Click on Advanced System Settings
  3. Now click on Advanced
  4. Under Performance click on Settings
  5. Click on Visual Effects
  6. There will be enlisted lot of options, locate and click the option stating ”Adjust for Best Performance”
  7. Press OK

Close Unwanted Services

There are some hidden services when you are using Netbook. These include some unnecessary services which are just eating up the memory of your system due to which Netbook freezes. You can get rid of the freezing problem by closing all unwanted services.

Manage Startup Programs

Running too many programs at start may result in Netbook freezes. You can disable unnecessary programs by following the steps below:

  1. Click on Start and open Run
  2. Type msconfig in the search box
  3. Press Enter
  4. Click on Startup tab
  5. Disable all unwanted programs
  6. Press OK
  7. Restart your Netbook
